From rolling and chewing to crushing, the animals at Reid Park Zoo will get an early and loved Halloween treat — pumpkins during the Zoo’s annual Smash Bash. Guests can watch as animals explore and enjoy the colorful seasonal fruit, each in their own way. The pumpkins are more than a special food treat — they are enrichment, providing something new and exciting to discover and encouraging the animals to use skills and behaviors such as foraging and problem solving that they would use in the wild.
