Welcome to the 2025 Week of the Young Child® Kick-Off Event: Together We Play A Week of the Young Child Celebration at Children's Museum Tucson! The purpose of the Week of the Young Child® is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs. NAEYC first established the Week of the Young Child® in 1971, recognizing that the early childhood years (birth through age 8) lay the foundation for children's success in school and later life. The Week of the Young Child® is a time to plan how we—as citizens of a community, of a state, and of a nation—will better meet the needs of all young children and their families. The Southern Arizona Association for the Education of Young Children is partnering with other organizations like First Things First, Tucson Young Professionals, and The Play District to create a community event to kick-off this wonderful week. This event is created to spark community awareness and advocacy for the importance of early childhood. Join us for a fun-filled day celebrating our youngest learners. From interactive activities to creative crafts, there's something for every child to enjoy. Come and play with us as we honor the importance of early childhood education. Don't miss out on this exciting event that's perfect for kids and families alike! This is a free for the first 200 visitors at Children's Museum Tucson on Sunday April 6th starting at 10am. Entry is first come first served.
