Welcome to the 2025 Week of the Young Child® Kick-Off Event: Together We Play A Week of the Young Child Celebration at Children's Museum Tucson! The purpose of the Week of the Young Child® is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs. NAEYC first established the Week of the Young Child® in 1971, recognizing that the early childhood years (birth through age 8) lay the foundation for children's success in school and later life. The Week of the Young Child® is a time to plan how we—as citizens of a community, of a state, and of a nation—will better meet the needs of all young children and their families. The Southern Arizona Association for the Education of Young Children is partnering with other organizations like First Things First, Tucson Young Professionals, and The Play District to create a community event to kick-off this wonderful week. This event is created to spark community awareness and advocacy for the importance of early childhood. Join us for a fun-filled day celebrating our youngest learners. From interactive activities to creative crafts, there's something for every child to enjoy. Come and play with us as we honor the importance of early childhood education. Don't miss out on this exciting event that's perfect for kids and families alike! This is a free for the first 200 visitors at Children's Museum Tucson on Sunday April 6th starting at 10am. The Scottsdale Sunrise Rotary is inviting families of children who have disabilities or special health care needs to the return of its annual Special Day for Special Kids on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 10 am to 2 pm at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale. For more than 30 years, Special Day for Special Kids has offered an opportunity for families of children with disabilities to connect and relax for one day in a safe and welcoming environment. The event is totally free for families and provides activities, games, hot dogs, chips, ice cream, popcorn and beverages for all. There is no advanced registration, just sign in when you arrive!
